Fitness is about feeling accomplished and free, feeling good for now and later. It’s not about looking the very best you can and not being able to see it. It’s not about hating your body. It was about making myself better, more powerful.

I started my fitness journey because I realised that if I didn’t change my lifestyle my chances of walking my baby daughter down the aisle someday were fair to middling at best. Try joining a gym or sports center. If you’re overweight, focus on activities that put minimal stress on your joints, like walking, swimming, or water exercises. Make a commitment to yourself. Remind yourself that something is always better than nothing. Don’t stress over weight. Be more mindful of your movement and thoughts throughout the day every day. Fitness is a marathon not a sprint. A little every day goes a long way.
